Automatic Gate Installation in Kenya

Plan a sliding or swing gate installation with Amel Technologies and Solutions LTD. We assess your existing gate, access needs and power supply before recommending a motor and control system for your home or business.

Request a gate automation survey and quote

What we assess before quoting

  • Gate type, dimensions, estimated weight and mechanical condition.
  • Daily opening cycles, users and vehicle movements.
  • Power supply, cable routes and any civil work needed.
  • Closing areas, crushing or trapping points and pedestrian access.
  • Remote controls, keypads, intercoms or other access requirements.
  • Manual release access, backup power requirements and maintenance needs.

Types of Gate Automation Systems We Install

Sliding gates

A sliding gate needs enough clear space beside the opening and a gate that moves freely along its track or cantilever system. Motor selection depends on gate weight, travel, condition and how often it opens. A motor will not correct a damaged track or binding rollers.

Swing gates

Single and double-leaf gates need clear opening space. The survey checks leaf dimensions and weight, hinge condition, pillar geometry and ground clearance. These details determine whether a proposed actuator can operate correctly.

Shared and busy entrances

Estates, offices and commercial sites need equipment selected for their expected traffic. Tell us the busiest periods, access arrangements and whether a separate pedestrian route is available so these can be considered in the design.

Safety and power backup

Ask for the proposed safety devices to be listed in your quotation. Depending on the gate design and equipment, these may include photocells, safety edges and supported obstruction detection. No device should be treated as a substitute for a suitable gate design, commissioning and safe use.

Battery backup is equipment-specific. Available operating cycles depend on battery condition, gate load and use. Confirm whether a battery, charger and installation are included. You should also know how the manual release works if power or the automation system fails.

Access controls and integrations

Discuss remote controls, PIN keypads, cards or tags, vehicle detection and intercom access during the survey. App control or smart home integration depends on the selected controller, supported interfaces and network requirements; compatibility must be checked before purchase.

From survey to handover

  1. Share your site details. Send your location, gate type and approximate dimensions through our contact page. Photos can help identify what needs checking.
  2. Review the proposed scope. Confirm the motor, controls, safety devices, power arrangements and any gate repairs or civil work in the written quotation.
  3. Installation and commissioning. Arrange installation, operational checks and a handover covering controls, manual release and maintenance requirements.

What affects the installation price?

The total depends on motor capacity, gate condition, access controls, safety equipment, cable distances, power provision and civil work. Backup power and integration requirements can also change the scope. Request an itemised quote so you can compare what is included.

Questions before you automate a gate

Can my existing gate be automated?

It may be suitable if it is structurally sound and moves freely. A survey must check the hinges or track, clearances, dimensions and load before a motor is selected. Mechanical repairs may be required first.

Will the gate work during a power cut?

Only if the installed system has suitable, functioning backup power. Confirm the backup arrangement in the quote and learn how to use the manual release.

Can I use a phone or an intercom to open it?

This depends on the motor controller and access equipment. Share the exact model of any existing intercom or smart home controller so compatibility can be checked.

Do automated gates need maintenance?

Yes. Follow the installed equipment’s instructions for servicing and safety checks. Report unusual noise, damaged parts or unreliable movement promptly, and keep people clear of the gate’s travel.

Request a site survey

Tell us your site location, whether the gate slides or swings, and whether you need a new installation, an upgrade or maintenance. Confirm service availability for your location and arrange the next step with our team.
