Check the model and power requirements

For a switch, compare port count, supported link speeds, management features and any PoE requirements. For an access point or wireless link, check the intended installation, compatible equipment and configuration needs. PoE adapters and powered devices must be matched by their exact specifications; do not assume that every PoE product is interchangeable. Confirm the supplied accessories and any separate controller, power supply or mounting requirements on the selected model.

Coverage and throughput depend on the site, connected devices, cabling, interference and configuration. A product’s headline rating does not guarantee the same performance throughout a building. Existing equipment models and the current internet service should be reviewed before extending a network.
